Metro Sports - Christchurch



KME Services NZ has been awarded the Electrical contract for the new 220 Million Dollar Metro Sports Facility in Christchurch New Zealand.

The main contractor CPB Contractors awarded KME with the Electrical contract as we continue to build a strong reputation in Christchurch.

The three-building facility will cater to local and international events, with construction including a 10-lane competition pool with seating for 1,000 spectators, swim leisure area, nine indoor netball and basketball courts and a show court with retractable seating for 2,500 spectators.


Completion is expected to be Early 2022



Pimpama Sports Hub


KME Services have been awarded the Electrical and Communications Contract for the 70 Million dollar Pimpama Sports Hub. We are delighted to be working with ADCO again on this project.


The project consists of a Aquadic Facility with the key elements being:

• 50m 10 Lane Pool
• Indoor 25m 10 Lane Pool
• Indoor Learn to Swim Pool
• Indoor Warm Water Program Pool
• Leisure Play Pool
• Childminding

• Multipurpose Hall Spaces
• Multipurpose Activity Room
• Meeting Room
• Enclosed Breakout Space
• Lobby/Foyer Area
• Storage Facilities
• Youth Space


A Health and Fitness Facility with the key elements being:

• Gymnasium
• Group Fitness
• Consultation Room
• Lobby/Foyer Area
• Storage Facilities
• Gym Terrace
• Amenities


A Tennis Facility with the key elements being:

•  8 x Tennis Courts
• Junior Hot Shots Court
• Terraced Spectator Area
• Pro Shop


A Tennis Facility with the key elements being:

• 12 x Netball Courts
• Flexible Training Lawn
• Clubhouse
• Shaded Spectator Area


The Hub is expected to be completed by Mid 2021

Christchurch Convention Centre 


KME Services NZ have been engaged by CPB Contractors for the design and construct electrical services for the new $240 million Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre.

On completion, the Christchurch Convention and Exhibition Centre is expected to host up to 2,000 delegates for a variety of national and international events. Construction works include delivery of a 1,400-delegate auditorium; 3,600m2 exhibition hall; and 1,600m2 in meeting rooms, as well as associated food, beverage and retail amenities.

Included within the electrical contract KME are responsible for the following:

-Electrical Supply and LV reticulation including emergency power generation.

-UPS System

-General and emergency lighting 

-Feature Lighting

-Lighting control 

-Interfaces with IBAM System 

-General Power

-Lighting Protection System

-Seismic restraints


The main challenges for KME Services on this project will be reticulation of sub mains to avoid the crossing of seismic joints, the integration with production lighting control and the IBAMS system, the large amount of integrated feature lighting and complex lighting control system. 


Construction has commenced and complete by mid 2021.
